Between the great inventions everyone remembers are thousands of machines that disappeared into archives. Their patents remain. Their drawings remain. The machines often do not. We reconstruct the mechanisms from those original documents and make them work again.

A patent is more than a legal document. It is an invitation to see what someone once believed could exist. Every collection piece begins with the original document, continues through mechanical reconstruction and testing, and ends as a physical object that can be held, operated and understood.
The method

We search the historical record for machines with unusual mechanisms, strong stories and the potential to work again.
The mechanism
Drawings, sections, descriptions and dimensions are studied component by component.
The model
Modern CAD and additive manufacturing turn the historical geometry into a physical prototype.
The machine
Parts are assembled, tested, corrected and finished until the mechanism does what the inventor intended.
Every machine has a story.
The original patent remains the primary source. The finished object is our attempt to bridge the 130-year gap between the inventor’s drawing and a machine you can operate today.
